Constantine Director Says WB Has ‘Other Plans’ for the Character

The 2005 Constantine movie remains a cult favorite among DC fans. Even though Keanu didn’t resemble to comic character much at all, and fans love Matt Ryan’s take, the movie has still been one many have wished for a sequel to for a while. There have been a lot of rumors lately of something new for the character, and even people trying to debunk the idea of WB making another Constantine, but it looks like there is something in the works.

In an interview with Slashfilm, Francis Lawrence said he and Keanu would still want to do a sequel to the original movie, but WB has other plans:

“We all investigated it, but I think it’s kind of crazy when you have Keanu, who would love to do another Constantine, and us wanting to do another Constantine, and people are like, ‘Uh, no, we got other plans.’ We’ll see what happens.”

Those other plans could include the rumored new Constantine movie, Bad Robot’s Justice League Dark HBO Max series, or both. While it’s a shame we probably won’t see Keanu back in the role, it at least seems that Constantine is on WB’s radar for a new project based on this interview.
