The Hollywood Reporter Confirms the Snyder Cut Was Unfinished

For the last two-and-a-half years, ever since Justice League released in November of 2017, a false story was being spread on the internet of a 100% complete “Snyder Cut” with finished effects and score that was just sitting on a shelf somewhere waiting for release. Anyone who would go against that false narrative would be the subject to endless harassment and death threats. And now it’s been confirmed that the cut was unfinished.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, there was never a finished version of the Snyder Cut just sitting on the shelf and they even have a quote from Snyder about it:

Forget that the version that fans wanted technically didn’t exist. What did exist was a semi-unfinished work, with no visual effects, no postproduction. One person who had seen that version described it like a car with no panels, just a drivetrain and some seats. And it sat on a hard drive in the Snyders’ house. “When we left the movie, I just took the drive of the cut on it,” says Snyder. “I honestly never thought it would be anything.”

And that’s why we have to wait until 2021 to actually see it. They’re spending the months until the release completing the unfinished effects, the score, and even getting the cast back together to finish this version of the movie.

Will those who threatened to kill people for saying it wasn’t finished ever apologize? I doubt it.
