Following the finale of season one, which featured Batman villain Hush in a very Face/Off style twist; The CW’s Batwoman will also have a new face when she returns in season two.
The shocking news hit today that Ruby Rose has left the series, and issued both she and Warner issued statements about the split.
“I have made the very difficult decision to not return to Batwoman next season. This was not a decision I made lightly as I have the utmost respect for the cast, crew and everyone involved with the show in both Vancouver and in Los Angeles.”
Fans worried about the future of the series, which did definitely improve as the first season progressed, won’t have to worry as they are going to recast the lead character:
“The studio and network are firmly committed to Batwoman’s second season and long-term future, and we — along with the show’s talented creative team — look forward to sharing its new direction, including the casting of a new lead actress and member of the LGBTQ community, in the coming months.”
If the Arrowverse didn’t collapse the Multiverse in Crisis this year, things might have been a little easier introducing a new Batwoman…
